we were currently tracking these using transcription eventbridge topic and looking for the phrases we associate with a call screener. We noticed that since moving to the new edge version with the ios 26 phase one, we're seeing fewer occurrences. We're not sure if that's coincidence or a change to something that has caused our report to show a decrease.
I'd like to incorporate the system's analyzer results into our data set, but I'm not sure the best way to do that. Iv'e not found a topic that currently has this in the event data to our eventbridge. I don't see a good way to query for these calls specifically from the api. Has anyone found a way to query through the api based off analyzer results or an event bridge topic that includes that information in the event schema?
Thanks,
Berk

I would expect that you'd be able to hear most of the initial greeting, since it should be classified after about 1.5s into the 5s greeting. If you're hearing less than about 3 seconds, then perhaps there is a longer than expected delay between the call analysis result and the 2-way connected audio.

Persistent connection wasn't established and took a few seconds. I was able to catch the end of the message with out auto answer and persistent connection established.

Hi Jason,
In my testing, the call isn't going to the agent fast enough for the agent to know that it was a call screener. Is this something you've seen in your testing?

Hello David,
Prior to phase 1 support, iOS call screeners are classified as Answering Machine, effectively preventing calls from reaching iPhone users that have opted into iOS 26 call screening.
iOS Call Screening Phase 1 Support:
- Classification capabilities limited to the United States, Canada, and Australia
- More specifically, any iPhone that is playing the call screening messages via any of the American or Australian Siri voices (which are available when the system region is set to 1 of those 3 countries - note that there aren't Canadian specific voices, so Canada would have access to American voices).
- Classified as Live Voice (by default), with the associated action taken (e.g., hangup, transfer)
- Disposition name and system wrapup would look like a regular Live Voice result
- Disposition analyzer result prefix of "recording.ivr.callscreener" instead of "speech.person", which can be used to identify when a call is detected as an iOS call screener
- Contact customer care to opt-out of the default Live Voice classification in favor of Answering Machine instead
The classification of the call screener (whether as Live Voice or Answering Machine, for phase 1) should occur within about 1.5 seconds into the ~5 second initial prompt to record your name and reason for calling. If Beep Detection is enabled, then the call should proceed past the initial greeting, through the ~20 seconds of silence where the iPhone is waiting for a response, into the voicemail message (e.g., Apple's Live Voicemail prompt or a carrier prompt if the phone is off or out of the coverage area).
There is a forthcoming Resource Center article update, with similar information above.
Future considerations include:
- Support for all available call screener languages (Siri voices)
- Configuration options on the Call Analysis Response set, similar to existing options for Live Voice and Answering Machine (e.g., transfer capabilities)
- Improved automated handling

Hi Everyone,
I just saw on the latest Media Tier release notes a line around "iOS call screening phase 1 support", Does anyone know what this is or how it will work?
As like many a number of our customers are concerned about the latest IOS update and call screening feature.
Kind regards,
David
