  • 1.  Official Group Visibility

    I have full administrative privileges in PureCloud, but am unable to see a certain groups on the Admin->Directory->Groups page.  Has anyone else run into this?  Would something like the group visibility settings being set to members-only cause the group to be inaccessible to an administrator?  I've spent some time toying with permissions and am stumped.

    I believe you will only be able to see the list of group which you are a member or owner. Try asking an owner of the group to add you as a member or create a group and see the results. 

    I have created following groups and I can see the list.

    I just came across this issue and think this may be an oversight in the administration setup of Groups. Even having all administrative privileges does not seem to allow listing/managing available Groups. So if the last group owner leaves the company the group can no longer be administered or deleted (or even seen by an administrator).

    Unless they change the password and log in as the owner........ I came across this when playing about with the visibility, for owners and members, a "faus pas"  to be avoided, I had forgotten about this until you brought it up. Good call Sven....

    Has this ever been fixed?  In my last round of tests I was still seeing it.

    With the ability to add roles/permissions through groups, you'd think Genesys would have addressed this oversight.  Needing to ensure that every admin is an owner of every group is awkward at best and you could easily end up with a security problem.  Having to manually touch dozens (or more) groups for a change in admins is a horribly time-consuming and error-prone process.

    For what it's worth, still having this issue in 2023. I do agree this is an oversight. Master Admins should be able to see every group via Admin > Groups...period. Not seeing any good reason why we Master Admins shouldn't, especially since we're responsible for administering the system and should have insight into anything that gets created/used in the system.
