    Hey Everyone,

    Welcome to the Genesys Cloud - Developer Community! 

    This community will be the primary home for developer.genesys.cloud site.

    My colleague Tim Smith did a great writeup with some additional context about this change. 

    Here is the skinny version:

    Overview: This particular community/forum will be great for all of your Genesys Cloud Development questions, thoughts, and breakthroughs. If you need help registering for this site or signing in, check out this page. We are open to the public, so tell your friends.

    Migration Date: The previous developer forum is getting migrated on March 24th (unless something unforeseen happens). A majority of the content from that site will be moved here, but all of the posts will be anonymous. Unfortunately, due to privacy limitations, we cannot migrate profile information.

    Other Communities: We are launching a new Analytics and Reporting Community in conjunction with this migration. 

    To celebrate the launch of these channels, we will be having Developer Trivia starting April 2nd and Reporting and Analytics Trivia on March 26th! We hope you join for the fun. The winner gets a prize from the Community's Prize Wall.

    If you have any thoughts or questions, feel free to ask Tim or myself. We look forward to having you.

    Hi Matt,

    That's great news! I'm really happy to see the Genesys developer community coming together under one roof. Having all developer interactions and information sharing in one place, instead of two separate platforms, will make things much easier. Especially as a developer, I think I'll be able to find the information and support I need more quickly.

    I'm also excited about the trivia event! It will both create a fun, competitive environment and be a great opportunity to learn new technical things about Genesys Cloud.

    This is perfect, now the geeks can join the party :P
    Well done guys, this will help a lot to keep all things Genesys Cloud in one space, no need to keep multiple bookmarks. ;)

    One question, what will happen to the historic developer forum posts? Are we making a clean cut? I hope not. (Sorry if i missed something about this topic, if then ignore else pie on operator's face ;P )

    Hey Dewald! 

    Geeks have always been the party in my book! 

    Great question: The previous forum will have a few options. First, the previous forum will be available in Read-Only mode for while, so you can refer back to the original site if need, but our plan is to migrate the content next Monday (March 24th), so this forum may look a little weird that day. 

    The only warning I want to give is that the migration will bring over the content anonymously. Meaning, no profile information or any posts that you made will come over to this account (in case you favorited content, etc.). Unfortunately, we could not map profiles between systems.

    I hope that makes sense and let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hey Matt,

    I saw Tim's email from earlier today and headed over to take a look, but I must be doing what my wife calls a "Man Look" because this community didn't seem to show up on the Communities home page?

    I eventually got here by using the link in Tim's email.

    Just figured you'd want to know!

    Great work, BTW, looking forward to consolidating my activity somewhat!

    Hey Paul! Thanks for pointing this out, I think there was some stray coding that caused things to get weird, but it should now be on both the home page and the community navigator dropdown. If I missed anything, let me know!

    There appears to be a significant amount of missing content from the original developer forum. Has the migration already taken place, or is it still in progress? I attempted to locate a previously viewed topic from the original forum without any success. I also tried to find a more recent thread, one I found through search and that also seems to be missing.
     
    The original forums contained a substantial wealth of knowledge, and losing access to that information would be a considerable setback for the developer community. I sincerely hope this is only temporary and that all historical content will be preserved and accessible at some point moving forward.

    Hey Jonathan,

    Yes, there is a ton of valuable information in the previous forum and our plan is to migrate the content ASAP. 

    We tried a migration previously and had unforeseen difficulties. We figured out what the issues was and we are waiting for resources to become available to perform the migration. My team and I will post updates on an ETA as soon as we have it.
