Kevin,
For the first 3 plus years of being on the PEC platform, those were my exact feelings. Having said that, as we are closing in on the end of year four, I have seen enough changes to believe PEC is here to stay. So yes, you could say I have taken a sip or two of the kool-aid. PEC still has plenty of room for improvement, but I think it is headed the right way with version 9. Genesys as a whole has plenty of room to improve as well, especially in customer technical support and overall communication. I thought last year Genesys stated it was going to use the Genesys Cloud moniker as an umbrella for all three cloud solutions, but apparently not. I do still see this as more of the beginnings of a move away from On-Premise. The caveat here is I could be completely off my rocker and in 6 months I will be on a street corner holding a sign reading " I will build your IVR for food".
Just my two cents.....

Subject: Tony Bates' Announcement Means End of Pure Engage Cloud?
With no customer notification prior to the release of this announcement, my feeling was that PEC is now an official afterthought, no matter if you already felt that way!
With all apologies to Davide Giglio, but this announcement with zero prior communication to PEC customers made me feel like what I would imagine a Ferrari owner would feel like if Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' CEO, Michael Manley suddenly announced, "Chrysler has led automotive engineering for many years, so we're now going to release all the latest and greatest with our Chrysler brand before Ferrari or Fiat."
It caused me to line up all of the cloud players in a list this morning to circulate within our team to review future options since it feels like PEC will be sunset. It's my opinion that moving from one platform to another, regardless if within the same vendor, is painful enough to take a look at the bigger picture.
What are your thoughts?
Genesys Cloud, The Way Forward, It Is
Excerpt:
To better reflect who we are as a company and how we're helping our customers, we have changed the name of our flagship software as a service (SaaS) offering from the PureCloud application® to Genesys Cloud™.
This isn't just a name change though. It publicly reflects the way we've been innovating and going to market for quite some time. As a cloud company, we're creating and delivering all our new innovations in Genesys Cloud - and then making them available to Genesys Engage (formerly PureEngage) and PureConnect customers. This enables all of our customers - those using cloud, on-premises and hybrid solutions - to adopt new Genesys technologies faster.
