  • 1.  Sms through dialer

    Hello everyone, We are planning on implementing sms and we heard that dialer can be used to configure blaster campaigns for sms. I looked at the configuration in the dialer to setup sms but i could not find anything related to sms. Do we need any kind of add-on feature to implement sms through dialer? Is there anyone that has already implemented this. If so can you please share your experience. Thanks.

    I Know Genesys is working on creating SMS capability through the dialer, but wasn't aware that feature was available yet.

    We currently do SMS through the dialer but do it via Policies. We have a precall dialer policy with an action to  call a custom handler. That handler formats the Text and pass it to the normal outgoing SMS handler. We then have it disconnect before the dialer makes the actual call.. The Campaigns  is then setup as Agentless Campaigns with that SMS policy attached to it.

    Hello Scott,

    we also have similar requirement and approach detailed here fits out functional requirement.Thanks for the detailed explanation.   I have only one  question here what will be the value for "caresult" when we disconnect the call from handler after sending the sms? and do we have any  primary key to connect this dialer  "CallHistory" Table with "SMSDeliveryReceipts" Table to pull the report to see how many SMS sent successfully against Campaign contact list ? or do we have to use reporting tools in handler to track that separately?

    Wanted to check on the SMS Blaster cmapaign.Now Pureconnect officially supports SMS Campaign.Have you implemented ?

    We have not changed over to use the SMS Campaign configuration, we are still using our original way of using a pre-call policy to call a custom handler that sends the SMS.

    When you send SMS using custom handler.Do you see call history report about SMS campaign?How do you track those details.

    And will it show how many success or failure ?

    Report for this is also very customized. We have the a custom table that the handler writes the Dialer SMS interaction ID the actual SMS interaction ID. We then built a custom report that uses the custom  table, The Dialer callhistory table and the SMSDelevery Receipts to give us success and failure.

    Thats great. May i know which Handler you have used for this customization of SMS. Currently, I dont have any SMS campaigns save in Call History.
