    Hello,

    Is there a way to specify for softphones that the GateWay IP (for SIP and RTP streams) is the SBC IP for inbound/outbound calls ? Is it done via settings of external Trunk ? Inbound/Termination or Outbound ?

    Inbound/Outbound calls are governed by the External Trunk settings for SIP/RTP. That is for all types of phones.

    For calls from softphone, which gateway will be taken into account ? SBC or Edge Gateway ?

    @George Ganahl,

    I would like for each pass through the SBC (inbound/outbound calls), the SBC gateway will be taken into account.
    That information will be available in the SIP invite !
    is that possible ?

    For outbound calls all phones first connect to the Edge based upon the Phone Trunk settings, then the Edge uses the Site Outbound Routes settings to select an External Trunk (based on Classification). The Edge then uses the External Trunk settings to place the outbound call, and connect the phone through to the outbound leg.

    The SBC usually appears in the VIA line of a SIP message.

    For Outbound calls, that's clear

    for internal calls, no SIP/RTP streams go through SBC ? directly via the Edge ?

    That is for you to decide and configure with your telephony provider. You set up with the provider whether they send calls to the SBC or directly to your Edge (I presume you want to have them go to the SBC, so you would set that up with them). Then your SBC has to be configured to forward the SIP messaging to the Edge.

    The External Trunk needs to allow access to whatever entity (telco or SBC) will be communicating with the edge for inbound calls.

    And, sorry - you said "Internal Calls" and I responded regarding "Inbound Calls".

    For Internal Calls everything stays on the Edge. They should not go to the SBC. No External Trunk involved in the calls.
