  • 1.  Sorting contact list and campaign performance

    Posted 08-18-2017 07:53

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to know if using the field "Sort contacts / Sort by" on the campaign configuration can have an impact on the campaign recycling feature.

For instance, if the contact list contains is growing up to 20000 contacts, and the recycling strategy is processed every 1% f campaign progression, is there impacts of slowing down the whole campaign processing ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Baptiste.

    Hi Baptiste,

First, what is your use case for recycling at 1% progress? Are you adding new contacts that have to be sorted a particular way?

As for the performance impact, with a contact list of that size it should be small (typically a few hundred milliseconds or less).

    Thank you,

    Sean Carter

    Hi Sean,

    Thanks for your answer.

    The use case is :

We have a "Score" column in the contact list, which is aimed to give a priority to the contacts we want to join first.

As we have new contacts added dynamically from our CRM to Purecloud, and in order to keep the priority relevance, we recycle the campaign every 1% progression in order to sort the contact list according to this "Score" field.

It is a kind of workaround, but it is the only way we found in order to deal with the call priority.

What do you think about that ? Especially on performance side when the contact list is growing up to several thousands contacts ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Baptiste.

As I said before, there shouldn't be a noticeable performance impact for a list of that size, even with a contact sort. You shouldn't see any issue until a list grows to hundreds of thousands of contacts.

    Thanks again,
