    Where does the Caller ID go once a call is transferred?

    When I transfer a call to another person I show as the person on the Caller ID then instead of who is calling in.

    Is there a way to set it up so the Caller ID transfers with the call?

    In my own brief testing, when I do a Blind Transfer the Caller ID from the call being transferred shows up, but if I do a Consult Transfer then my Caller ID shows up since I am the one initiating a call to the party receiving the transfer. I haven't been able to verify whether the Caller ID changes once I complete the Consult Transfer.

    When I do a Blind Transfer within the office.... my name is what shows up on the phone I am transferring to  -not the person who is on the line.

    its like the caller id stopped with me.

     

    When I do I Consult Transfer - my name shows up to the phone I am transferring to - we talk - and once I hang up in the ID Box still shows me

    What type of phone are you using?

     

    Is the call being transferred coming from outside the company (sounds like it)?

     

    Are you on PureCloud Voice, or are you using your own PureCloud Edge on premises?

    We have a polycom 301

    yes calls coming into the office and I transfer to another person  -  they think it me calling and they answer their phone differently.  our old phone system showed the caller id when we would blind transfer.

    We have the Edges in house

    That seems quite odd...perhaps you should contact Support with that one.

    The 301 is pretty old...I don't know if it might be playing a role in this.

     

    One other thought - are you doing the transfer from the phone or from the client application?

    Its a VVX 301

    and transferring from the actual phone and not the client

     

    but I can try that

    Ah...sorry. I was thinking VVX went from 300 to 310 :-)
