  • 1.  Shinkage disappears when looking at Forecast w/Shrinkage

    Posted 08-03-2023 19:52

Sometimes when I look at the Forecast w/Shrinkage in the schedule set, I see the additional shrinkage factored in.  Other times, it is gone.

Here is the week of 08/14

And here is the week of 08/07

Both forecasts had the same shrinkage percentages and I know 08/07 at some point had a different result for the w/shrinkage vs without because I saw it, but now 08/07 does not seem to reflect the shrinkage while 08/14 still shows it.  Both schedule sets are published.

Is there some point where Genesys stops showing you your unplanned shrinkage numbers?

I think I may have figured it out.  Is it that, once you add in an unapproved shrinkage code, the differences become the same?

Interesting observations!  I don't see the same outcome.  Instead, the staffing numbers in "Scheduled" row decreases when an activity code is added & published, while the forecast numbers with & without shrinkage remain same.

We battled this issue for over a year and at some point they said they fixed a bug and it hasn't happened since. Following here and keeping an eye on our schedules!

Any update on this? Have a client experiencing the same situation right now: it is not taking into consideration the advanced shrinkage percentages that were input (8% in our case) some of the time or for some planning groups but is for others.

Basis the screen snippets you have shared, it is safe to assume that these are intraday staffing numbers for two individual management units - lets call them A & B.

I suspect that in the "A" management unit advance shrinkage values were zero when forecast and schedules were generated, hence forecast with & without shrinkage show the same values. While Advance Shrinkage in "B" management unit had 8% added before generating forecast & schedules.  Suggest reviewing if "A" management unit has advance shrinkage values, then re-generate forecast and schedules and review the outcome.

If there are more than one management unit in a business unit, advance shrinkage should have values in all management units in order for it to be accounted for in forecast & schedule generation.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone!  The problem fixed itself. Looks like it was a glitch of some sort because I didn't change anything.
