Summer is here and if we're not creating new memories, we're reminiscing about old ones. What was your favorite summer and why?

My favorite summer memory was taking my son to Universal's Harry Potter World! We enjoyed butter beers and rode all the rides. He was even selected for Ollivander's wand ceremony. It was truly a trip to remember! Now I'd love to hear yours!

Fun in the sun and the beach with my four boys. We all rode our bikes to Huntington Beach  Pier (in California) and enjoyed a full day of eating and laughing. With four boys, they did their share of sandcastles and swimming in the water.

Traveling around Europe in college. France, Germany, Austria, Italy. Got to see so many cool places, lots of yummy food.

I'd have to say my best summer was when my parents took us to Nova Scotia for a week. I was 19, first time in a different country and it is an amazing place. I'm hoping I get to go back someday.

Traveling for 8 weeks the summer of my sophomore year in high school with a collegiate wind band playing French Horn.  Best was playing in the parade route for Princess Diana.

I do not have one particular summer, but rather a family vacation to the shore each year for July 4th week. Since my son is 15, I treasure all the summers vacations with just me, my husband, and my son because time goes by so fast! :)

My best summer so far was in between Sophomore and Junior years of college and spent in Austin before it was so crowded- days spent at Zilker Springs, afternoons eating delicious tacos and evenings taking in live music like Blues on the Green- really great memories!

Tied between last summer and this. Last summer we introduced our first daughter to the world and this summer she has turned 1. Every day is a blessing with her and I can't just pick 1.

I love summer! Our family tries to plan a beach trip to getaway each year. One of my favorites was the first year we took our daughter to Disney. Even though I ended up carrying her the entire 3 days seeing the look on her face with each character she met was priceless. BUT that wasn't the best part. She hadn't been to a beach yet to see the ocean, so we decided to drive to Cocoa Beach, less than an hour from Orlando. THAT was the best 3 hours of the trip. We didn't pack a bathing suit or towels, it was just supposed to be a quick trip to see the ocean and walk on the sand. This turned into her wanting to touch the waves with her feet, then splashing, and finally watching her run in and out of the waves & soaking her dress that was supposed to be for our dinner reservations.

The summer before my senior year of college. I moved in with my best friends and lived on the couch until a room opened up. We had all kinds of zany adventures, including a three day birthday bash, road trips galore, and all sorts of hijinks.

I cannot say it was my favorite summer, but probably my most impactful, life-shaping summer was Plebe Summer at the US Naval Academy. Went in at 17, turned 18 during that time of transition from civilian to military. Changed my life forever.
