Is it possible for customers to send a file via the web chat? Via the purecloudnow demo it doesn't seem to be possible, but maybe it depends on the implementation.
Seems a trivial feature to me, use case is where a customer wants to upload a screen shot of an error message, or wants to send back an image of a signed document.

Yes. Files can be sent using web chat. Here's a Resource Center article that you might find useful.
