I would like to know if anyone has a recommendation for a USB headset, to use with the soft phone, that is capable of Remote Call Controls (Answer/Hangup from headset)?

    That would be awesome. To be honest I'm not sure it's possible. There would need to be several programmatic hooks between the headset USB agent, the Windows sound framework, and the browser, and the app.

     

    I've had this request from my users as well though.

    Hi all, we use Jabra EVOLVE 65 MS, they come in mono (single ear) and Stereo (double ear) and are brilliant comfortable/ noise reduction and USB only thing they don't do from your request is answer and hang up. but i think there is a config in purecloud that does an auto answer. anyway... this is my sale reps detail below tell her I referred you maybe I can get a discount next time I order :) lol but truly very happy with this product.

    We have many Plantronics headsets at our company. I've reached out to Plantronics to see if they have a model compatible with PureCloud WebRTC where the answer/hangup button works. They don't. But they suggested a resource for a PureCloud app developer to incorporate this into their client. (http://developer.plantronics.com) Any PureCloud app devs working on this???? Thanks.

    All,

    this is Stephan from Jabra. We are looking into how we can support this. We recently launched an integration on the Genesys AppFoundry (https://appfoundry.genesys.com/apps/181622#!overview) but call control and even customizing the buttons of the headset for other functions is limited to the Genesys Workspace client at this time (Genesys does publish a SDK for that). However, we would love to see this working for PureCloud as well. There are a few options on how to make this work for a WeRTC client but just as Justin Bruderlin mentions above there need to be API's available from the Genesys Developer Team.
