    Users are able to edit own name and location. How can we disable this?

     

    I see a default profile "Employee' with "Base permission required for all users. Allowed to read the entire org, edit their own profile, and edit their own location"

     

    Per default each users has this role/profile

    Hi Rogier,

     

    To remove their access you need to change the permissions on each profile field. You can do this from Admin->Directory->Profile Fields. From there, select the field you want to edit ,and go to "Edit Field":

    Name - General

    Location - Location

     

    From there, you can go to the Field Permissions tab, and under "Writeable By" change it to Specified users. Then you can control what users roles have access to change it.

     

    You can do this to lock down every profile field, if you wish.

    It looks like  Genesys decided to deprecate Field Level Permissions in 2017 - so users can freely edit and change any of their information now - including their contact information and ruin their DID/Extension assignment without even needing an administrator!

    Why can users still change Name, Title and department even if only integrationServer is allowed???

    Rogier,

     

    Check the right side of that "Field Permissions" Tab. I think you may also have to edit the "Related User's" section.

     

    Click on the picture, which should deselect the user themselves from editing the field.

    Not sure why we have to do both, but see if that works. The way I have it set above is that only the manager of said agent can edit. You can also just remove all rights by "unchecking" all of the arrows and circle.

    Is there a possibility today to restrict access to some user profile fields or ideally entire sections? It's quite useful to have. How can this be done?
