  • 1.  Architect - Transfer to external number

    Is it possible to do a transfer to an external number in a flow and set it up so it frees the trunk line?
    I think this would be done by sending a SIP REFER to the carrier.

    Can this be done? what would be the requirements for the carrier and the configuration in the external trunk?

    It's not possible yet, but we're adding that feature.

    Thanks for the response Melissa.

    I know this is always hard to answer in the forums, but how close is this feature in the roadmap?
    Is it defined for a specific quarter or simply in the product backlog with no set deadline?

    Thank you for the information.

    As observed, the 'Transfer to Number' action behaved in different way under below scenario, would you please kindly elaborate more.

    1. The implement was BYOC premised.
    2. Release Link Transfer set as enable from sip trunk level.
    3. Release Link Transfer set as True from task action level as well.

    Scenario 1:

    ==.

    An inbound call lands in a call flow. (call leg A)

         Participant number A:  +1 123456

         DNIS number A: +2 34567

    ==.

    A flow's queue receives this interaction, and inside its In-queue call flow's task, there is a 'Transfer to Number' action to an external number.(call leg B)

         RLT is true.

         Participant number B:  +2 (a fake number)

         External number B: +3 56789

        

    ==.

    The external number B answered the call, and Participant number A talked to DNIS number B. (call leg C).

    ############################################################################################################################

    Scenario 2:

    ==.

    An inbound call lands in a call flow. (call leg A)

         Participant number A:  +1 123456

         DNIS number A: +2 34567

    ==.

    A flow receives this interaction, and inside FLOW's task, there is a 'Transfer to Number' action to an external number.(call leg B)

         RLT is true.

         Participant number A:  +1 123456

         External number B: +3 56789

        

    ==. 

          The call leg B disconnected immediately. 

         

    ######################################################################################################################

    From the above scenario A;

    after the external number answered the call, from genesys end, the recording for call leg A stopped which is good.

    However, the recording for call leg C kept alive, and actually. at the moment, looked call leg B = call leg C. 

    According to the 'External trunk settings - Genesys Cloud Resource Center (mypurecloud.com)' , the call leg B was supposed to be released.

    May i know if i misunderstood it, or is there something else i need to setup to have it relesed ?

    From the above scenario B:

    The participant number A kept same in call leg B, i assumed this might be an expected behavior during an external transfer 

    i could understand, a setting in our voice gateway needs to complete to have it connected.

    However, in case the external call is connected;

    will the link in call leg A get disconnected? instead, the call will switch to call leg B, and the genesys recording won't happen for call leg B?

    The implementation is BYOC primise.  Actually, there is a voice gateway between local PSTN and genesys edge.
