  • 1.  Recorder in switchover

Hello, Can someone tell how should recorder behave in case of switchover, when connection to database is also lost? This happens for systems where CIC servers are in different localizations, connected by WAN network, database is in one localization and WAN fails. Regards, Ernest

I think it depends on if you have a media server or not. From what I saw if the database connection is lost the recorder records will queue up in the PMQ folder and the recordings will stay in a unprocessed folder on the CIC server or the media server (depending on how you have it configured). Upon database connection coming back the PMQ files will be processed so the records will be put into the database, however the recordings will not be processed. In Interaction Recorder there is an option in the menu that will reprocess unprocessed recordings. After you reprocess the unprocessed recordings the unprocessed recordings will get processed and you should be able to find them in Interaction Recorder.

Thank you for your anwers. It turned out this would be solved in SU10. SCR ID: 80597 Product: xIC Description: Recorder server will now fully process recordings when the database is down and will store the database transactions in PMQ ERR files for later processing. Details: Recorder server will now fully process recordings when the database is down and will store the database transactions in PMQ ERR files for later processing. The Recorder PMQ ERR files can be processed when the database is back up by running 'sendcustomnotification IRServer PMQRetry'. Also Recorder server will no longer randomly hang when going from a lower run state to run state 6. Status: Fixed in xIC 3.0 SU 10 Target: 3.0 (Rum SU) Regards, Ernest

According to the ES notes, that was fixed in the ES above. It will be in SU10 as well. RobertWC

RobertWC, Are you saying that this ES you wrote has also a fix for this issue (80597) ? I could consider upgrading to SU9 and applying ES instead of waiting for SU10. Does someone know when SU10 would be released? Could you possibly attach a readme file for this ES? Thanks, Ernest

Not me, but ININ. Here is the release info: SU9-ES81480-81229-80096-81745 IR - Capture Server Fix Capture Server Switchover SU9-ES81480-81229-80096-81745 IR - Client Cafe Module Audio Goes Out of Sync with Screen Recording SU9-ES81480-81229-80096-81745 IR - Server Recorder ICBM module users will now be able to recategorize a recording into a child category as long as they have admin access to the parent category. SU9-ES81480-81229-80096-81745 IR - Server IRServer will now leave unprocessed database transactions in PMQ so that they will be recoverable if Recorder Server goes down before they are processed. It looks like two of your issues are fixed with the ES. Yes, going to SU9 (requires a new license file BTW) and then applying the ES should take care of your issues. SU10 is slated for release in a few weeks from what I hear.
